Indian Indigo/Red

Morris Volume V Prints FabricMOF0027-01

Indian Indigo/Red presents a dense field of curling foliage and stylised blossoms against a deep, cool indigo ground. Red, muted coral, cream and small olive accents give the print warmth and depth without softening its richly patterned character.

About this fabric

The scrolling floral design is clearly defined in warm red and coral against the dark indigo background, with cream highlights bringing definition to the layered leaves and blossoms. Its fine surface texture is visible across the swatch, while the specification records a substantial 380 gsm weight and 22 threads per cm. The fabric has a 137 cm usable width, with a 67 cm vertical repeat and 55 cm horizontal repeat for careful pattern placement on upholstery. A standard length of 60 metres supports larger coordinated furnishing projects.

How to use it

Use this cool indigo colourway on a statement armchair, sofa or dining seat, balancing its red floral detail with plain linen, aged timber and warm brass. The dark ground also works well against cream walls and muted terracotta accents.

Use the deep indigo ground and warm red accents to anchor upholstered seating in a layered, traditional scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
