Montreal Velvet Indigo/Slate

Morris and Friends Volume I Fabrics VelvetMOF0085-01

Montreal Velvet Indigo/Slate has a cool slate-indigo ground filled with curling dark stems, ivory flower heads and muted sage, olive and taupe botanical forms. Dusty gold and stone accents catch across the intricate repeating surface, giving the colourway a softly aged, richly layered appearance.

About this fabric

The supplied 416 gsm weight and 147 threads-per-cm specification point to a substantial, closely constructed velvet, making this colourway particularly well suited to upholstery. Its 131 cm usable width supports practical cutting across upholstered panels and furniture components. The floral lattice repeats every 49.5 cm vertically and 43.5 cm horizontally, with linked stems framing alternating ivory blossoms and ornate botanical motifs. Against the cool indigo-slate ground, the restrained olive, taupe and faded gold details create depth without losing the velvet’s quietly luxurious character.

How to use it

Use this cool indigo-slate colourway on a statement armchair, sofa or footstool, balancing its intricate floral surface with plain ivory linen, warm timber and aged metal. Muted olive and taupe accessories will pick up the softer botanical notes without competing with the pattern.

Pair this cool indigo-slate velvet with warm ivory, aged brass and muted olive accents to draw out its botanical detail.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
