Croft Charcoal

Mulberry Croft Weaves FabricFD851.A101

Croft Charcoal has a softly weathered appearance, combining pale greige-grey ground cloth with broken charcoal flecks and fine horizontal movement. Its close, tactile weave gives the colourway quiet depth rather than a flat solid finish.

About this fabric

Woven from 39% viscose, 23% cotton, 20% linen, 14% polyester and 4% wool, Croft Charcoal has a subtly irregular surface with short dark marks running through its light charcoal-grey ground. The 140 cm width and 1.4 cm horizontal pattern repeat emphasise the fabric’s fine, gently striated texture, while the 26 cm vertical repeat adds understated variation. With a 25,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Professional dry cleaning is required; the fabric should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use Croft Charcoal to soften a contemporary sofa or headboard with its pale, cool greige tone, then repeat the charcoal flecks in blackened metal, stone or smoked timber. Its restrained horizontal texture also makes relaxed curtains or a coordinated bedspread feel layered without introducing a bold motif.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
