Basketweave Teal

Mulberry Small Prints FabricFD2016.R11

Basketweave Teal has a finely grained, closely woven surface that reads as a pale, softened blue-green in this swatch. The restrained colour is tempered by a light stone-grey cast rather than appearing bright or saturated.

About this fabric

Made from 100% cotton and measuring 137 cm wide, this fabric shows a tiny, even basketweave texture with a subtle tonal variation across the surface. Its 12 cm vertical and 16 cm horizontal pattern repeats create a quiet woven rhythm rather than a bold printed motif. The muted teal-grey colour feels cool and understated, with the fine texture catching the light softly. It is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; professional dry cleaning is required, and it must not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the pale blue-green teal on a relaxed armchair, loose cover or full-length curtain where its fine texture can add depth without dominating. Pair it with chalky neutrals, warm timber and softly aged brass to balance its cool stone undertone.

Its softened teal-grey tone and close basketweave texture suit relaxed upholstery, curtains and coordinated bedspreads.

Pairs well with

Basketweave Teal is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
