Babouches Teal combines a cool, muted blue-green ground with a lively arrangement of decorative babouche slippers. The densely detailed motifs bring warm reds, ochres, creams and turquoise accents across the calm teal base.

About this fabric

Woven from 100% linen and measuring 147 cm wide, this fabric features a repeating field of illustrated slippers with ornate panels, curved soles and fine decorative detailing. The teal ground has a softly textured, slightly chalky appearance, allowing the warmer red, tan and ivory motifs to stand out without feeling overly bright. Its 88 cm vertical pattern repeat and 147 cm horizontal repeat make the placement of the large-scale design an important consideration for upholstery and curtains. The fabric is also specified for loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; after-care is Do Not Wash, Do Not Bleach and Do Not Iron.

How to use it

Use the cool teal ground to bring depth to a relaxed sitting room, then echo the slipper motifs’ rust, ochre and ivory notes in cushions, piping or painted furniture. Full-length curtains or a loose-covered chair will showcase the generous repeat particularly well.

A characterful teal linen for statement curtains, upholstered pieces and coordinated bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
