About this fabric

This 100% linen fabric has a warm grey-taupe ground patterned with elongated ornamental slippers, each filled with fine paisley, floral and decorative detailing. The muted background gives the design an antique, softly weathered character, while touches of terracotta red, ochre, teal and blue provide controlled flashes of colour. At 147 cm wide, the fabric has a vertical pattern repeat of 88 cm and a horizontal repeat of 147 cm, so the large-scale motifs need careful placement. It is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; after-care is Do Not Wash, Do Not Bleach and Do Not Iron.

How to use it

Use the taupe ground to anchor a layered, collected room, then pick out the terracotta and ochre slipper details in cushions, piping or painted furniture. Its large repeat is particularly effective on a statement chair, upholstered headboard or full-length curtains.

The muted taupe ground tempers the richly coloured babouche motifs, making this ornate linen versatile for upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
