About this fabric

Made from 100% wool, this 147 cm wide fabric has a calm stone tone that sits between warm grey and subdued taupe. The fine light check gives the surface definition without overpowering its restrained colour, while the weave catches the light with gentle tonal variation. With a 35,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for fixed and loose upholstery as well as curtains and bedspreads. The pattern repeats every 7.5 cm vertically and 7 cm horizontally, creating a consistent medium-scale grid.

How to use it

Use Bute Stone to upholster a relaxed armchair, sofa or headboard where its soft taupe-grey check can add structure without strong contrast. It also works as a coordinating curtain or bedspread fabric in rooms built around warm neutrals, chalky whites and weathered timber.
