Somerset Check Nutmeg combines a pale oatmeal ground with warm nutmeg-taupe blocks and fine horizontal ribbed lines. The woven check has a gently irregular, tactile appearance that gives the colourway depth without making it feel bold.

About this fabric

This 138 cm wide fabric is woven from 37% wool, 18% viscose, 15% acrylic, 14% cotton, 7% polyamide, 6% linen and 3% polyester. Its repeating structure measures 31 cm vertically by 34.5 cm horizontally, forming staggered rectangular checks with alternating stripe densities and softly textured block sections. The nutmeg colouring reads warm and muted, sitting between oatmeal, biscuit and soft taupe rather than a strong orange-brown. It is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; care instructions specify professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.

How to use it

Use the warm nutmeg and oatmeal tones to bring quiet contrast to a neutral sitting room, particularly on a tailored chair, sofa cushion or relaxed curtain. Its softly structured check also coordinates naturally with plain linens, warm woods and understated bedroom textiles.
