Bruton Check Ochre combines muted ochre, wheat, cream and russet threads in a finely woven, miniature check. Its close-set pattern reads as a warm, softly textured surface rather than a bold graphic.

About this fabric

The woven surface layers golden ochre and pale beige with narrow cream and russet lines, creating a gently variegated check with subtle ridges that catch the light. Made from 38% wool, 24% viscose, 15% cotton, 8% nylon, 7% linen, 7% polyester and 1% acrylic, it has the depth expected of a mixed-fibre furnishing cloth. At 135 cm wide, with a 21 cm vertical repeat and 22.5 cm horizontal repeat, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The 31,000 Martindale rub test supports its use on upholstered furniture, while care is professional dry cleaning only; do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use the warm ochre-gold ground to bring sunlit depth to a neutral room, pairing it with chalky creams, natural timber and muted terracotta. Its small check is particularly effective on an occasional chair, relaxed blind or tailored bedspread where the russet and cream threads can be seen up close.
