Mendel Glacier

Alston Fabric

Mendel Glacier is a pale, cool grey textile with a softly mottled surface rather than a flat, uniform finish. Its fine crossweave is lifted by delicate taupe, blush and muted green flecks.

About this fabric

The Glacier colourway reads as a light, quietly variegated grey, with a slightly silvery cast in the brighter areas of the weave. Closely spaced horizontal and vertical yarns create a fine woven grid, while subtle irregularities give the surface a natural, tactile character. Tiny touches of warm taupe, dusty blush and muted green are dispersed through the grey, adding depth without forming a defined motif. The overall effect is understated and relaxed, with the cool base keeping the colourway crisp rather than beige-led.

How to use it

Pair Mendel Glacier with chalky whites, pale oak and brushed metal for a cool contemporary room, or draw out its taupe and blush flecks with softly warmed neutrals and muted rose accents.

Use this cool, softly flecked grey as a calm foundation for upholstered seating, curtains or layered neutral schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
