Soetsu Spice/Raffia

Zanzibar Fabrics FabricSCF0092-02

This Soetsu Spice/Raffia colourway places airy, branching tree silhouettes across a warm raffia-cream ground. Coral-spice, blue-grey, pale sage and beige foliage give the design a soft, gently varied woodland character.

About this fabric

The fine tree motifs are spaced across the light ground in a restrained palette of muted coral, cool blue-grey, pale sage and warm raffia-beige, so the colourway feels layered rather than highly contrasted. With a 220 gsm weight and 137 cm usable width, this mid-weight fabric is suitable for both upholstery and drapery. Its pattern repeat measures 64 cm vertically by 137 cm horizontally, giving the scattered tree arrangement a clear but easy-going rhythm. The specification also records 44 threads per cm and a standard length of 60 m.

How to use it

Use the raffia-cream ground to brighten a reading chair, roman blind or relaxed curtain, then echo the coral-spice trees in cushions or small painted details. Blue-grey upholstery and pale timber will bring out the cooler branches without losing the warmth of this colourway.

Pair the warm raffia ground with natural timber, soft neutrals and coral-spice accents for a calm, collected scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
