Bempton Charcoal

Bempton FabricCCF0374-02

Bempton Charcoal presents a finely spaced vertical stripe in cool charcoal grey and soft ivory. The close stripe gives the surface a measured, tailored rhythm, while the woven construction keeps the finish tactile rather than stark.

About this fabric

The fabric is formed from narrow charcoal and ivory lines running vertically across the cloth, with the pale ground slightly softening the contrast. At 177gsm and 140cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight textile suited to both upholstery and drapery. Its pattern repeat is 0cm vertically and just 0.5cm horizontally, creating an almost continuous stripe across joined widths. The charcoal tone reads cool and muted in the close-up, with the weave adding subtle variation to the otherwise precise linear design.

How to use it

Pair Bempton Charcoal with warm ivory, pale timber and soft grey upholstery for a calm, architectural scheme. Its slim vertical lines are especially effective on occasional chairs, dining seats, Roman blinds or full-length curtains where the cool charcoal adds definition without dominating the room.

Use the fine charcoal stripe to bring crisp vertical definition to upholstery, blinds or relaxed curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bempton Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
