Ancient Canopy Sap Green

Arboretum Fabrics FabricSAF0391-01

Ancient Canopy Sap Green is a richly layered woodland print, with broad tree canopies in deep sap green set against a pale, watery ground. The colourway feels fresh and shaded at once, with blue-green and yellow-green accents lifting the foliage.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Arboretum Fabrics collection has a usable width of 137 cm and a substantial 425 gsm handle, giving it the presence expected of a decorative upholstery fabric. The repeat is large, at 74.1 cm vertical and 68.6 cm horizontal, which suits the sweeping tree forms and open landscape arrangement visible here. In this colourway the dominant sap green reads earthy rather than bright, with darker mossy notes, touches of teal, and small flashes of warm yellow-green across the leaves. The pale ground keeps the design airy, so the dense canopy motif feels detailed and painterly rather than heavy.

How to use it

Pair it with pale oak, aged brass and quiet off-whites to let the green canopy read clearly. It works especially well on an occasional chair, headboard or deep cushions where the large-scale pattern can breathe.

Use for statement chairs or cushions where the leafy green canopy can take centre stage.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ancient Canopy Sap Green without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
