Thistle Garden Mist/Pebble

Embleton Bay Fabrics FabricSAF0242-01

Thistle Garden Mist/Pebble has a soft ivory ground washed with pale pebble-grey and muted sage botanical stems. The watercolor thistles and airy seed heads feel light and freshly drawn rather than bold or saturated.

About this fabric

This Embleton Bay Fabrics design by Sanderson is a fabric with a usable width of 140 cm, a 61 cm vertical repeat and a 140 cm horizontal repeat, so the pattern reads as a broad, statement-scale print. The cloth is 252 gsm with 38 threads per cm, giving it a substantial mid-weight handle that can sit comfortably in either upholstery or drapery use. In this colourway, the background stays quietly off-white while the flowers lift in soft mist, pebble and faded sage tones with just a whisper of blue at the tips of some blooms. The overall effect is calm and airy, with enough detail in the stems and seed heads to keep the design interesting without darkening the room.

How to use it

Use it where you want a botanical feature that still feels light: a pair of curtains, a loose-cover chair or occasional cushions against pale timber and painted finishes. The cool pebble and sage notes work especially well with putty, chalk white and gentle green accents.

Pair with pale oak, brushed linen and soft sage accents to keep the watercolor florals airy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
