Fringed Tulip Toile Putty

Sanderson x Giles Deacon Fabric FabricSAF0428-02

Fringed Tulip Toile Putty shows a large-scale floral toile drawn in faded rose-pink on a pale putty ground. The pattern has an aged, almost printed-on-linen look that keeps the design light rather than heavy.

About this fabric

This Sanderson x Giles Deacon fabric is sold as a 143 cm usable-width textile with a 94 cm vertical repeat and 71 cm horizontal repeat, so the flowing floral motif needs careful matching across a substantial pattern drop. At 265 gsm and 35.6 threads per cm, it reads as a substantial cloth with enough body for tailored interiors, while still sitting comfortably in a softer decorative role. In this colourway, the blush-taupe ground mutes the tulip and scrolling foliate detail into a warm, weathered pink that feels gently antique. The surface effect is softly textured and slightly chalky, which gives the toile extra depth without making the overall effect dark or dense.

How to use it

Use it where you want a romantic but restrained statement: a chair, banquette or curtains against limewashed walls and faded timber. The putty background keeps the floral pattern airy, while the rose tint adds warmth to stone, plaster and natural oak.

Layer with chalky neutrals and aged wood to keep the toile feeling elegant, not sugary.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fringed Tulip Toile Putty without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
