Cupid`s Beau Parchment/Madder

Sanderson x Giles Deacon Fabric FabricSAF0426-02

Cupid’s Beau Parchment/Madder shows a delicate hand-painted botanical scene set on a warm parchment ground. The soft cream base lets the rose-pink blooms, sage stems and ribbon-tied posies read clearly without feeling heavy.

About this fabric

This Sanderson x Giles Deacon fabric is a 142 cm-wide textile with a 62.5 cm vertical repeat and 70 cm horizontal repeat, so the full bouquet motif has room to breathe across larger drops. At 265 gsm and 35.6 threads per cm, it sits in a substantial mid-weight range that feels suitable for both upholstery and drapery. The Parchment/Madder colourway is especially airy: the ground is a soft, aged cream, while the red-madder pink flowers add vivid contrast without turning harsh. Fine green leaves, pale ribbon ties and tiny scattered insect details keep the print lively and give the fabric a lightly romantic, illustrated character.

How to use it

Its parchment base makes it easy to pair with painted timber, pale oak and muted greens, while the madder pinks bring enough colour for a bedroom or drawing room. Use it on curtains, a deep armchair or a loveseat where the large repeat can be shown off.

Use for tailored curtains or statement upholstery where the soft parchment ground can let the rose and sage motifs stand out.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Cupid`s Beau Parchment/Madder without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
