Chinese Lantern Mint & Apricot

Water Garden Fabrics FabricSAF0380-02

Chinese Lantern Mint & Apricot has a fresh mint ground scattered with slender leafy branches and lantern-shaped blooms in apricot-red. The large botanical repeat gives the design an airy, trailing feel with plenty of open space between the stems.

About this fabric

From Sanderson’s Water Garden Fabrics collection, this cloth is a substantial 320 gsm with a usable width of 128 cm, making it well suited to upholstery projects. The repeat is generous at 76 cm vertical and 64 cm horizontal, which suits the tall, branching growth shown across the swatch. The ground reads as a cool, soft mint green, while the dangling flower heads bring in lively apricot and pink-red accents that sit clearly against the background. Fine olive and brown stems add movement and a hand-drawn garden quality, giving the fabric a fresh but grounded decorative character.

How to use it

Use it on a statement armchair, ottoman or window seat where the mint ground can brighten the room without feeling harsh. It also works well with cream walls and natural timber, letting the apricot details become the warm focal point.

Pair with pale oak, rattan and warm brass to let the coral buds sing.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Chinese Lantern Mint & Apricot without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
