About this fabric

China Blue Indigo/Neutral from Sanderson’s Water Garden Fabrics collection shows a large-scale botanical repeat on a pale neutral ground, with stylised flowers, leaves and trailing stems picked out in layered blues. The palette reads cool and crisp rather than dark, with indigo outlines adding definition against lighter china blue shading. At 370 gsm, this is a substantial fabric with enough body for upholstery, and the 137 cm usable width gives useful coverage for larger furniture pieces. The 45 cm vertical repeat and 69 cm horizontal repeat should be planned into cutting for matching across the generous motif.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, ottoman or curtains in a room that needs pattern without heaviness. The blue-on-cream contrast works especially well with painted woodwork, linen textures and warm oak.

Pair with chalky neutrals and dark timber for a crisp, tailored look.
