Alpaka Cassis

Alpaka Fabric

Alpaka Cassis is a deep plum-burgundy cloth with a subdued, velvety-looking surface and a gentle sheen that appears as the fabric folds. Its fluid movement creates soft transitions between wine-toned highlights and near-black berry shadows.

About this fabric

The close, even surface reads as smooth and finely textured rather than visibly patterned, allowing the saturated Cassis colour to carry the design. Across the gathered swatch, the cool burgundy-plum tone becomes lighter on raised folds and substantially deeper in the recesses. The fabric falls in supple, rounded folds, making its drape the defining visual feature. No performance features are noted in the supplied specification for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Alpaka Cassis for full-length curtains, relaxed Roman blinds or other drapery where its dark plum tone can frame a room with a soft, atmospheric richness. Pair it with warm neutrals, smoked timber and aged brass to balance the cooler berry depth.

Use this rich plum tone for softly gathered curtains or drapery that brings depth without bright colour.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
