Arcadia Charcoal

Arcadia Fabric

Arcadia Charcoal has a painterly, abstract look with layered charcoal greys, pale stone, and flashes of ochre gold. The pattern reads energetic and textural, with a cool base lifted by warmer accents.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% polyester, Arcadia Charcoal is specified for both curtaining and upholstery, and its 60,000+ Martindale rub test makes it well suited to busy seating as well as statement drapes. The design shows a dense, brushstroke-style abstract pattern in charcoal, soft grey, ivory, and muted gold, giving the cloth a lively but controlled surface. Its 137 cm width and H35 x V22 cm pattern repeat help when planning large upholstered pieces or full-length curtains. Visually, the colourway feels more smoky than black, with ochre highlights that stop it reading flat and add warmth to the overall grey ground.

How to use it

Pair this charcoal-and-ochre colourway with walnut, blackened metal, and pale plaster tones for a modern scheme with contrast. It works especially well on a sofa or armchair where the layered pattern can bring movement without losing the grounding effect of grey.

Use it to add graphic energy and warmth to a tailored interior.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Arcadia Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
