03 Beetle

Canterbury Fabric03

Canterbury 03 Beetle has a cool, weathered grey ground crossed by closely spaced vertical lines. Its fine, slightly slubbed surface gives the swatch a softly dimensional appearance rather than a flat block of colour.

About this fabric

The colour reads as layered charcoal grey, with lighter grey threads and occasional warmer brown-grey lines visible between the vertical striations. The narrow linear structure runs consistently from top to bottom, creating a composed, elongated effect. Its fine cloth appearance makes it best suited to drapery, where the vertical direction can be appreciated across a curtain or blind. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use 03 Beetle for full-length curtains in a cool grey or neutral room, where its charcoal depth can frame a window without introducing a bold pattern. Pair it with pale stone, soft white or smoked wood to pick out the lighter threads in the weave.

The fine, vertically striated weave brings subtle movement and a tailored look to curtains and blinds.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside 03 Beetle without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
