About this fabric

This Zoffany velvet is woven in a 137 cm usable width and weighs 672 gsm, giving the cloth a notably substantial presence for upholstery. The design features repeating stylised blooms, paisley-like leaves and small diamond details, picked out in silver and soft ivory against a greyed Wedgwood blue ground. Taupe-brown shading within the motifs adds depth without warming the colourway excessively, while the velvet surface gives the pattern a gentle, low sheen. Its vertical repeat is 45 cm and horizontal repeat is 91 cm, allowing the ornate layout to be planned precisely across upholstered pieces.

How to use it

Use this cool Wedgwood blue colourway on a statement armchair, headboard or sofa where its silver floral detailing can provide a formal focal point. Balance the ornate surface with pale grey, ivory or weathered wood, rather than introducing strong warm colours that could compete with its restrained blue-grey tone.

A substantial, ornate velvet with cool blue depth and silver-highlighted floral detail for statement upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
