Odell White Opal

Indienne Fabrics FabricZOF0091-02

Odell White Opal has a softly luminous ivory ground, crossed by very pale vertical bands and delicate, irregular flecks. The restrained contrast gives the swatch a cool, lightly weathered appearance rather than a stark plain-white finish.

About this fabric

The design is built from broad vertical bands, each broken by a fine, granular pattern of pale grey-ivory marks that creates gentle depth across the surface. With a substantial weight of 725 gsm and 27 threads per cm, this is a dense textile suited to upholstery rather than a fine, fluid drapery cloth. The usable width is 137 cm, with a pattern repeat of 11.7 cm vertically and 34.5 cm horizontally. Its White Opal colouring keeps the overall effect light and quiet, while the mottled detail prevents the large pale areas from appearing flat.

How to use it

Use White Opal on a tailored armchair, sofa or headboard where its soft ivory tone can brighten the room without losing the structure of the vertical banding. Pair it with chalky stone, pale grey and natural timber for a calm, cool-toned scheme.

Use this quiet ivory colourway to lighten tailored upholstery while retaining the visual structure of its pale vertical banding.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
