About this fabric

This Zoffany velvet weighs 712 gsm and has a usable width of 143 cm, giving the cloth a substantial presence for upholstery. Its repeating design is built from curling, symmetrical damask forms in taupe, set against indigo so the pattern reads with strong depth rather than bright contrast. The vertical repeat is 74 cm and the horizontal repeat is 36 cm, creating an ordered rhythm of compact ornamental panels across the width. With 76 threads per cm and a standard length of 50 m, it is suited to projects requiring a richly patterned, consistent velvet yardage.

How to use it

Use this cool indigo-and-taupe colourway on a buttoned sofa, occasional chair or upholstered headboard where its formal scrolling pattern can become the focal point. Pair it with aged timber, warm taupe walls and muted brass to draw out the warmer detail without losing the depth of the blue ground.
