Bristol Charolite

Parisienne Fabric

Bristol Charolite presents a near-black charcoal ground with a subtle purple cast, articulated by a tightly repeated micro-check. The close-up view shows a tactile woven surface whose small squares create understated graphic depth.

About this fabric

The finely scaled check is built from alternating dark charcoal and muted purple-black squares, giving the surface a softly pixelated appearance rather than a bold, high-contrast pattern. Light catches parts of the weave unevenly, bringing out a restrained plum tone across the otherwise deep shade. This colourway reads cool, moody and composed, with enough pattern to add texture without becoming visually busy. It is catalogued as a Fabric, and no further specification data is supplied.

How to use it

Use Bristol Charolite to bring cool, graphic depth to a tailored chair, sofa or full-length curtain, especially alongside chalky grey, blackened timber and muted lilac-grey accents. Its near-black purple tone also works well as a grounding layer in a contemporary, low-lit scheme.

Pair the deep charcoal-purple ground with softly contrasting neutrals or use it to add graphic depth to tailored upholstery and drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
