Crillon Empress

Parisienne Fabric

Crillon Empress is shown here in a deep charcoal black, with a softly mottled surface that absorbs and reflects the light unevenly. Its near-black tone gives the plain textile a quietly atmospheric depth.

About this fabric

The image shows a dense-looking charcoal surface with subtle tonal variation rather than a visible motif or repeat. Fine, cloudy texture across the face prevents the colour from reading as a flat black, while the low-light areas create a plush, enveloping impression. No composition, width, rub test or performance features have been supplied for this colourway, so those specifications should be confirmed before ordering. The dark, restrained appearance is especially suited to statement upholstery where texture is intended to do the visual work.

How to use it

Use this deep charcoal-black colourway on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair where its softly varied surface can add depth without introducing a pattern. Pair it with warm wood, aged metal or pale stone to keep the near-black tone from feeling overly stark.

A near-black, softly textured surface that brings depth and a quietly dramatic finish to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
