Havelock Danube

Essential Weaves Vol 2 FabricEWV2HAVELOCK

Havelock Danube is a cool, muted blue fabric with a fine vertical texture that gives the surface a quietly striated look. The tone reads like softened denim, lifted slightly by the woven movement across the face.

About this fabric

Havelock Danube from Ashley Wilde’s Essential Weaves Vol 2 collection is a drapes-only fabric woven in 68% polyester and 32% cotton. At 140cm wide and 332 grams per linear metre, it has enough body for elegant curtain making while keeping a soft, tailored handle. The colour is a subdued denim blue with a grey cast, so it feels calm and versatile rather than bright or nautical. Its narrow vertical pattern repeat of 17cm and horizontal repeat of 11.5cm support the fine, rhythmic texture visible across the cloth. Made in India, this is a practical textured weave for rooms that need colour with a restrained finish.

How to use it

Use this muted blue at the window in living rooms, studies or bedrooms where you want colour that stays measured and cool. It pairs especially well with pale oak, chalky whites and brushed metal accents.

A cool, understated blue that adds texture without overwhelming a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
