Isla Iron

Textures 2 Collection FabricISLA

Isla Iron is a quietly sophisticated charcoal cloth with a softly mottled, low-contrast texture. The surface reads matte and grounded, with just enough visible weave to keep the colour from feeling flat.

About this fabric

Part of Ashley Wilde’s Textures 2 Collection, Isla Iron is a drapes-only fabric woven in 71% polyester and 29% cotton. The cloth has a width of 140cm and a substantial weight of 318 grams per linear metre, giving it a reassuringly composed hang for window treatments. In the swatch, the colour sits in a deep charcoal grey register with cool undertones, broken by a fine, understated woven grain that catches light gently rather than shining. With no rub test stated, it is best viewed as a dedicated drapery fabric rather than an upholstery choice.

How to use it

Use this dark grey to frame pale walls, linen upholstery or smoked wood finishes, where its cool depth will add contrast without looking harsh. It works especially well in modern or industrial interiors that need a calm, tailored curtain fabric.

A cool charcoal tone with a subtle textured surface that suits tailored, understated curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
