Downham Heather

Ribble Valley FabricCCF0039-02

Downham Heather combines a softly textured cream ground with finely drawn floral motifs in a faded heather-mauve shade. The cool, quiet colour contrast gives the traditional pattern a gentle, time-softened character.

About this fabric

The woven surface has a fine horizontal texture that subtly breaks up the pale cream background, while the flower heads, curling stems and leaves are picked out in muted mauve. At 226 gsm, this is a versatile mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery. The design has a 30.5 cm vertical repeat and a 25.2 cm horizontal repeat, allowing the floral arrangement to read clearly across the 137 cm usable width. Its low-contrast palette keeps the larger blooms decorative without making the colourway feel busy.

How to use it

Use Downham Heather on a relaxed armchair, Roman blind or full-length curtains where its dusty mauve flowers can sit comfortably with cream upholstery, pale taupe walls and softly weathered timber.

Pair the soft cream ground and muted heather-mauve floral with warm neutrals, painted wood and understated antique finishes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
