About this fabric

This jacquard repeats peacocks, stylised blooms and scrolling leaves in cream against a subdued denim-blue ground, with the close-woven surface giving the pattern depth as the light moves across it. At 256gsm and 145cm wide, it has the substance to work across both upholstery and drapery applications. The vertical pattern repeat is 58cm and the horizontal repeat is 48.5cm, making the placement of the repeated birds and floral panels an important part of the cutting plan. Its blue is cooler and quieter than a bright teal, while the pale motifs keep the densely patterned design feeling light rather than heavy.

How to use it

Use this cool denim colourway on a reading chair, ottoman or lined curtain where its cream birds and foliage can be seen at close range. It works especially well with chalky whites, pale timber and warm natural browns that soften the blue without competing with the detailed repeat.

Use the cool denim-blue ground to bring depth to traditional upholstery, cushions or softly tailored curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Strawberry Thief Jacquard Denim without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
