Colefax and Fowler

Amersham Flax

Amersham FabricF3623-07

Amersham Flax is a softly textured neutral with a fine, horizontal slub and a gentle linen-like surface. Its warm beige tone reads calm and natural, with just enough depth to keep the cloth from feeling flat.

About this fabric

This colourway shows a light flax beige with subtle tonal variation, so the surface feels quietly mottled rather than uniform. The weave has a delicate horizontal character and a soft dry-hand look, helped by the mix of 61% viscose, 17% cotton, 16% polyester and 6% linen. With an approximate width of 145cm and no repeat, it is straightforward to pattern-match and easy to use across larger runs. The overall impression is smart and understated, with a warm naturalness that suits both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Amersham Flax on tailored seating, relaxed curtains or Roman blinds where you want a warm neutral without a stark cream cast. It pairs especially well with pale timber, stone, putty paint and aged brass.

A calm flax-toned neutral that layers easily with oak, linen and softened metallics.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
