Honiton Old Blue

Cristabel FabricF4758-01

Honiton Old Blue has a quietly weathered look, with a soft blue-grey ground and a delicate trailing floral design picked out in a pale, almost chalky thread. The overall effect is cool, gentle and neatly detailed rather than bright or high contrast.

About this fabric

Woven in 80% Linen, 15% Viscose and 5% Polyester, this 130cm-wide fabric has a natural matte handle that suits relaxed interiors as well as more tailored schemes. The repeat is a generous V 39cm / H 65cm approx, giving the scrolling sprig pattern a graceful, meandering rhythm across the cloth. In this colourway, the old blue reads as a muted grey-blue with a slightly misted finish, while the embroidery-like motif sits lighter on top and keeps the design airy. The Q 8 + T 3 care code and √BM fire rating make it a practical decorative fabric for upholstery or drapery.

How to use it

Use Honiton Old Blue on a set of easy chairs, a chaise or full-length curtains where the soft blue-grey tone can temper warmer woods and painted finishes. It also works well with crisp white, putty and silvery accents, which echo the pale trailing motif.

A calm blue-grey ground with a fine trailing motif that feels tailored and easy to live with.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Honiton Old Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
