Lanark Plaid Aqua

Erskine Wools FabricF2616-07

Lanark Plaid Aqua shows a muted aqua ground crossed with a restrained red plaid, giving the wool a cool, understated tartan look. The surface reads softly brushed rather than crisp, which adds to its gentle, tailored feel.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% wool, this Lanark Plaid colourway has a dry, lightly napped handle that suits relaxed interiors as well as more tailored schemes. The plaid repeats at approximately V 11.5cm and H 12cm, creating an evenly spaced check that feels orderly and familiar rather than bold. Its aqua base is greyed and weathered, so the red lines stand out clearly without becoming brash. At approximately 138cm wide, it is a practical breadth for upholstery projects or lined drapery where you want the check to sit neatly.

How to use it

Use this cool aqua check on an armchair, ottoman or café curtain where the muted ground can balance timber and stone. It works especially well with rust, tan and off-white, which pick up the red threads and soften the plaid.

Pair it with oak, chalky neutrals or deep rust accents to let the cool check sing.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
