About this fabric

Woven in 100% wool, this Lanark Plaid has the soft, lightly brushed look you expect from a warm cloth, with the pattern sitting clearly on a deep charcoal-brown ground. Slim rust-red verticals and muted grey horizontals form a medium-scale plaid with a neat, measured rhythm across the width. At approximately 138cm wide, and with a repeat of V 11.5cm / H 12cm, it is well suited to patterned cutting on chairs, cushions or soft furnishings. The charcoal base keeps the colourway low-lit and substantial, while the red lines add just enough contrast to stop it feeling flat.

How to use it

Use this charcoal plaid on a wing chair, banquette or ottoman to bring depth without losing restraint. It also suits lined curtains where the dark ground and fine check will read as tailored rather than rustic.

A tailored plaid that works well on upholstery or curtains for a restrained country look.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
