Lanark Plaid Red

Erskine Wools FabricF2616-01

Lanark Plaid Red is a warm, richly saturated tartan in deep red wool, crossed with muted green lines and softened by a gently brushed surface. The check feels traditional but not overly bright, with a low, cosy sheen that suits its woollen character.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% wool, Lanark Plaid Red has the reassuring handle and visible softness you expect from an upholstery-weight cloth. The plaid is set on a deep brick-to-crimson ground, with narrow olive-green and tan lines forming a regular check across the surface. Its repeat is approximately V 11.5cm by H 12cm, and the 138cm width makes it practical for upholstered pieces as well as heavier decorative uses. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this exact fabric. The overall effect is warm, heritage-led and slightly muted rather than bright, which gives the red a more tailored, lived-in finish.

How to use it

This colourway works well on armchairs, ottomans and banquettes where the red can bring depth without feeling loud. Pair it with oak, dark walnut, racing green or oatmeal linens to keep the look grounded and classic.

Use with warm leathers, dark wood and pared-back neutrals for a classic country feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
