Nevis Plaid Stone

Erskine Wools FabricF4108-05

Nevis Plaid Stone is a softly tailored plaid with a warm stone-beige ground and cool grey detailing. The weave reads quietly rustic, with pale intersections that give the check a gentle, weathered depth.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% wool, Nevis Plaid Stone has the substance and natural surface you would expect from a cloth that works well for both upholstery and drapery. The plaid is set out in an approximate vertical repeat of 28cm and horizontal repeat of 25cm across a width of about 152cm, creating a balanced, classic check. In this colourway, the beige ground is warmed with taupe and softened by charcoal-grey lines, while lighter highlights at the crossings add a slightly chalky lift. The result is smart but unfussy, with enough tonal variation to keep large pieces from feeling flat.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, bench cushion or tailored curtains where the stone and grey palette can sit comfortably beside oak, painted joinery and linen. It is particularly strong in rooms that need a calm pattern with a countryside mood rather than a high-contrast statement.

A restrained plaid that brings a tailored, country-house feel to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
