Burnell Beige

Fen Wools FabricF4627-03

Burnell Beige presents a softly aged damask pattern in a warm, understated beige that reads dry, textured and quietly elegant. The weave gives the design a gently mottled surface, so the motif feels layered rather than sharply printed.

About this fabric

Burnell Beige from the Fen Wools collection by Colefax and Fowler is woven in a substantial 46% Wool, 28% Cotton, 18% Viscose, 8% Linen composition, with an approximate width of 144cm and a vertical repeat of 43cm / horizontal repeat of 36cm. The fabric shows a large, scrolling damask with oval loop forms and fine trailing details, all softened by the mottled woollen handle visible in the swatch. Its beige ground is warm and muted, with a linen-like oatmeal cast and faint grey undertones that keep the pattern from feeling too creamy or yellow. The overall effect is classic but relaxed, with the texture doing as much visual work as the motif itself.

How to use it

This tone works well on an upholstered armchair, headboard or small sofa where the large-scale damask can read clearly. Pair it with worn timber, stone, putty and deeper taupe accents for a calm, layered scheme.

A restrained neutral with enough texture and pattern to add depth without overpowering a room.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Burnell Beige without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
