Fen Sage
Fen Wools FabricF4637-03
Fen Sage shows a finely worked herringbone in muted sage and olive tones, with a gently heathered surface that keeps the pattern subtle. The weave reads tailored rather than sharp, giving the colourway a calm, practical character.

About this fabric
Fen Sage from the Fen Wools collection by Colefax and Fowler is a fabric, not a wallpaper, woven to a width of approximately 138cm. Its composition is 40% wool, 20% cotton, 18% viscose, 16% linen and 6% polyester, which helps explain the fabric’s dry, slightly nubby handle and the way the small herringbone pattern sits neatly across the surface. The colour is a soft sage green with olive and grey undertones, so it feels natural and muted rather than bright or country-bright. With a vertical repeat of 0cm and a horizontal repeat of about 1cm, the pattern appears tightly packed and steady, ideal for a restrained, textural finish. The Q 8 + T 3 care code and √CH fire code make it a considered choice for interiors where specification matters.
How to use it
Use Fen Sage on an upholstered armchair, banquette or smart window seat to bring a soft green note without losing a tailored look. It also works well for curtains or Roman blinds where the subdued sage ground can sit quietly with oak, limestone and deeper woodland tones.
A quietly tailored sage that suits both cushions and curtains.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fen Sage without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
