Fen Blue

Fen Wools FabricF4637-05

Fen Blue has a quiet, heathered blue tone that reads cool and softly subdued rather than bright. The fine herringbone weave gives the surface a crisp, tailored character with gentle movement across the cloth.

About this fabric

Fen Blue from the Fen Wools collection by Colefax and Fowler is a fabric with a neat vertical repeat of approximately 0cm and a horizontal repeat of about 1cm, creating the impression of a very fine herringbone. The blend of 40% Wool, 20% Cotton, 18% Viscose, 16% Linen and 6% Polyester gives it a dry, lightly textured look with a soft depth to the yarns. At approximately 138cm wide, it is a practical width for a range of interior projects, while the visible blue-grey surface feels restrained and tailored. The colourway has a cool, muted finish that catches the light softly, making the weave read clearly without looking busy. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √CH are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Fen Blue on a smart armchair, banquette or cushions where the muted blue can bring structure without feeling severe. It also works well with pale oak, chalk white or warm stone, letting the subtle herringbone add texture rather than contrast.

A refined blue with a dry woollen handle and subtle heritage feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
