Carmine Old Blue

Ellerdine FabricF4940-01

Carmine Old Blue shows the Ellerdine design on a muted blue-green ground, with scrolling florals picked out in pale ivory, taupe and touches of gold. The overall effect is cool, fresh and quietly decorative rather than bright.

About this fabric

Woven in 61% linen, 27% viscose and 12% polyester, this fabric has a natural-looking handle with a refined surface that suits softly tailored interiors. The repeat is a generous V 59cm / H 65cm approx, giving the floral pattern room to breathe across the cloth. Its 130cm approx width makes it practical for larger curtain drops and statement upholstery pieces where the motif can be placed clearly. The tone reads as a soft, greyed blue-green, with the lighter embroidery-style flowers standing out gently instead of sharply.

How to use it

Use it for lined drapery, a feature armchair or a headboard where the blue-green ground can calm stronger woods and painted finishes. Pair with chalk white, weathered oak and warm brass to bring out the pale gold accents in the print.

A fresh blue-green ground with pale embroidery-style florals for elegant curtains or relaxed upholstery accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
