Huxley Yellow is a softly sunlit plain with a gentle woven texture and an easy, faded buttery tone. The cloth reads calm and warm rather than bright, with the weave giving it a subtle, natural surface.

About this fabric

Huxley Yellow from the Huxley collection by Jane Churchill is a 51% cotton, 49% polyester fabric with a width of approximately 138cm. The surface shows a fine, linen-like weave with tiny slubs and a lightly mottled handle that keeps the colour looking soft and lived-in. In this colourway, the yellow is pale and creamy, with a warm biscuit undertone that feels restrained rather than sharp. With no repeat at approx. V 0cm / H 0cm, it has the look of a straightforward plain that will sit quietly alongside patterned fabrics. The C 8 + T 3 care code and K fire code make it a practical choice for domestic interiors.

How to use it

Use this buttery shade on relaxed upholstery, roman blinds or curtains where you want a warm glow without strong colour contrast. It pairs naturally with white, chalky neutrals, pale timber and muted greens for a calm, softened scheme.

A warm neutral that brightens seating and softens window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
