About this fabric

Woven in 100% cotton, this Hartwell fabric has a compact, even handle that suits both upholstery and drapery use. The design has a very small repeat at approximately 1cm horizontally, creating a disciplined striped rhythm rather than a broad statement pattern. In Ellis Yellow, the yellow reads as soft mustard with a slightly muted, chalky cast, while the narrow pale lines lift the colour and stop it feeling heavy. The overall effect is clean, smart and easy to place in schemes that need warmth without intensity.

How to use it

Use it on a dining chair, ottoman or Roman blind where the narrow stripe can add structure without overpowering the room. Its mellow yellow tone works especially well with oak, painted whites and muted green accents.

A neat pinstripe in warm mustard, ideal for tailored upholstery or crisp curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
