Huxley Taupe

Huxley FabricJ0294-13

Huxley Taupe is a softly textured plain with a warm, sandy taupe cast and a quietly tailored finish. The weave reads matte and understated, with just enough variation to stop the surface looking flat.

About this fabric

This Huxley colourway is a muted warm taupe with a beige undertone, shown here as a dry, linen-like plain rather than a bold statement weave. Its 51% cotton and 49% polyester composition gives the cloth a balanced, practical handle, while the 138cm approximate width makes it easy to work into larger upholstery or curtain projects. With a vertical and horizontal repeat of 0cm approx, it presents as a clean all-over ground that relies on texture rather than pattern. The C 8 + T 3 care code and K fire code make it straightforward to specify where a smart, neutral finish is needed.

How to use it

Use this taupe as a quiet foundation against oak, putty, stone and other warm neutrals, where its softly mottled surface adds depth without drawing attention. It works especially well on tailored seating, roman blinds or full-length curtains in calm, layered interiors.

A calm neutral with enough structure for upholstery or relaxed drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
