About this fabric
This Colefax and Fowler fabric from the Millbrook collection is woven in 63% Cotton, 26% Viscose and 11% Linen, with an approximate width of 145cm and a vertical and horizontal repeat of about 1cm. The swatch shows a compact small-scale pattern with a ribbed, nubby surface and a red ground lifted by lighter specks that keep the colour from looking flat. Amery Red has a warm, confident depth that sits between scarlet and terracotta, so it feels richer than a bright primary red but still energetic. With no performance features noted and a cloth-like handle suggested by the cotton/viscose/linen mix, it works well where a tailored but approachable finish is wanted. The CM fire rating is also noted for specification purposes.
How to use it
Use this red to bring warmth to a mid-century chair, dining banquette or upholstered headboard, especially against walnut, oak or dark painted joinery. It also pairs neatly with natural linens and earthy neutrals, where the colour can act as the room’s strongest accent.
