Nao Clay

Remi FabricL9422-01

Nao Clay shows a soft clay-beige ground with a small, ordered motif that reads quietly from across the room and more texturally at close range. The overall effect is warm and restrained, with the pattern sitting just enough off the background to give the cloth gentle movement.

About this fabric

This colourway of Remi from Larsen combines 40% cotton, 25% viscose, 22% polyester, 11% linen and 2% polyamide, giving the fabric a grounded natural handle with a neat, controlled finish. At approximately 146cm wide, it is a practical furnishing cloth, and the repeat is about V 4cm / H 7cm, which keeps the small-scale design crisp and regular across larger pieces. The image shows a pale clay-beige ground with subtle woven contrast in tan and taupe, so the pattern feels understated rather than busy. It has a warm, softly aged quality that catches the light gently, making the surface look relaxed but still tailored.

How to use it

Use Nao Clay on a sofa, bench or dining chair where you want a calm neutral with just enough pattern to stop the room feeling flat. Its warm beige tone also sits well beside oak, plaster pinks, limestone and deeper brown accents.

A soft neutral that works well on tailored upholstery or quietly refined curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Nao Clay without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
