Bowler Clay
Paxton FabricL9238-01
Bowler Clay reads as a soft, creamy clay neutral with a fine woven chevron effect that only shows itself when the light catches the surface. Its gentle warmth gives the pattern depth without making the fabric feel busy.

About this fabric
This Bowler Clay colourway has a light beige base with a warm, slightly earthy cast, so the weave feels calm rather than stark. The small chevron-check structure is visible across the surface, with the herringbone-like texture softened by the mix of linen, wool, cotton, bamboo, polyester and polyamide. At approximately 134cm wide, it offers a practical width for both upholstery and drapery applications, and the specified repeat of V 1cm / H 6cm approx gives the design a compact, regular rhythm. The composition adds a natural, dry handle impression, while the pale clay tone keeps the overall effect understated and refined. With fire code √BM and care code Q 8 + T 3, it is a considered choice for interiors where a quiet patterned neutral is needed.
How to use it
Use Bowler Clay on a sofa or armchair for a softened, tailored look, or make it into curtains where the warm beige tone will sit quietly against timber, stone and painted walls. It pairs especially well with chalky whites, sand, taupe and muted olive accents.
A soft, understated neutral that works neatly on tailored upholstery or relaxed drapery.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bowler Clay without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
