Bowler Wood

Paxton FabricL9238-05

Bowler Wood has a quietly tailored herringbone that reads as warm wood-brown with a soft, textural finish. The small-scale zigzag gives the fabric a refined, rhythmic surface without feeling busy.

About this fabric

Woven in 43% Linen, 21% Wool, 18% Cotton, 7% Bamboo, 6% Polyester and 5% Polyamide, Bowler Wood has the tactile, grounded feel you expect from a mixed natural fibre fabric. The small herringbone repeat, set at approximately V 1cm / H 6cm, creates a neat directional grain that is visible but understated across the cloth. At approximately 134cm wide, it is a practical upholstery and curtain fabric for schemes that want texture rather than pattern contrast. The wood-brown colouring is softly warmed with beige and taupe undertones, giving the surface an easy, lived-in depth rather than a flat tan finish.

How to use it

Use Bowler Wood on a sofa, bench or headboard where the herringbone can add subtle structure in a warm neutral room. It pairs especially well with oak, leather and chalky paint colours, bringing a smart, grounded tone to the scheme.

A tailored herringbone in a warm wood tone that works beautifully across upholstery and drapery schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
