Tome Charcoal

Tome FabricL9494-05

Tome Charcoal has a deep, almost inky grey tone with a softly striated surface that catches the light in fine horizontal lines. The result is a restrained, modern look with enough texture to keep the colour from feeling flat.

About this fabric

This Larsen fabric has a composed charcoal ground that reads cool and shadowy rather than jet black, with a subtle horizontal ripple visible across the surface. Its 61% viscose, 32% cotton and 7% polyester composition gives the cloth a dry, tactile handle with a refined drape and a touch of body. The repeat is approximately V 28cm and H 34cm, which reinforces the ordered, banded effect you see in the swatch. At approximately 138cm wide, it is suitable for a range of interior applications, and the understated texture keeps the colourway feeling polished rather than stark.

How to use it

Use Tome Charcoal to anchor a scheme with pale stone, warm oak or brushed metal, where the dark grey adds depth without overpowering the room. It also suits a tailored sofa or lined curtains when you want a smart, understated finish.

A rich charcoal with subtle ribbing that works well on tailored upholstery or elegant curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
