Bergamo is shown here in a cool mid-grey chenille with a densely nubby surface and subtle charcoal-and-silver variation. The small-scale woven texture gives the colour depth without introducing a visible pattern.

About this fabric

Made from 100% polyester, this 138cm-wide chenille is graded for domestic upholstery and has a closely packed, tactile weave suited to seating. Its grey ground shifts gently between soft stone, charcoal and silvery flecks as the light moves across the surface, keeping the colour dimensional rather than flat. The restrained texture gives upholstered furniture a smart, contemporary appearance while remaining visually quiet. It is machine washable and carries Domestic Cig & Match flame retardancy.

How to use it

Pair this cool mottled grey with pale timber, blackened metal and blue-grey accents for a calm, modern scheme. Its understated woven depth also works well as a grounding upholstery on a patterned cushion or curtain-led room.

Use this cool, softly mottled grey on sofas, dining chairs or occasional seating for a quietly tailored finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
