About this fabric

This Venezia velvet has a visibly broken vertical pattern, with pale blue channels interrupted by cinnamon-rust, ochre-brown and warm cream marks. The uneven surface and shifting colour density create depth without a regular geometric repeat, while the velvet construction gives the design a soft, light-catching finish. It is made from 49% viscose, 49% polyester and 2% cotton, with a 138cm width and an upholstery grade suitable for both contract and domestic use. Aftercare is professional; it is rated for Domestic Cig & Match and can be treated to Crib 5 contract grade.

How to use it

Pair the cool blue ground with chalky neutrals for a calm scheme, or draw out the rust and ochre threads with aged timber, tan leather and warm metal accents. The vertical movement works particularly well across a statement chair, sofa or upholstered headboard.

Use this richly textured velvet to bring weathered colour and vertical movement to upholstered seating, headboards or statement cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
